CORPUS is the only company in the Netherlands - and one of the few in Europe - that combines acrobatics, dance and theatre. When we speak of acrobatics the circus often springs to mind. Corpus differs from circus-acrobatics in the way that it uses physical 'tours de force' as a starting point for an expressive story. A story in which the emotions and developments of the characters 'come to life' through choreography. CORPUS particular combination makes it a unique and determined company with the ability to put across breathtaking theatre in the style of the so called "NEW CIRCUS". The performances are visual spectacles without a text. So there is no language barrier! Corpus uses bodylanguage. The company works a lot with different sorts of masks and various colourful objects. These items are used to create all sorts of existing and non-existing animals or creatures. CORPUS has enjoyed succes both at home and abroad. They are the only Dutch company that has performed at the Avignon Theatre Festival three weeks running (1995). They have also conquered Cannes, (Festival International Performance d'Acteur 1996), and have performed in Russia and Germany. In May 1998, Corpus represented the Netherlands at World Expo '98 in Lisbon, Portugal and was therefore part of the official Dutch delegation. In May 1999 they represented the Netherlands for two weeks at the Dutch Antillians. CORPUS is also praised by various collegues beyond the dance and movement world. Even comics like - the well known - Jango Edwards once actively recognized their quality. He saw them performing one afternoon and immediately invited them to take part in his show that very evening! FATA MORGANA, the theatre production had its opening night on September 13th 1997 in the Netherlands. the present
